Fault In Our Stars Book
by John Green

The fault in our Stars is such a good novel! It's sad, it's funny, and it's serious! If you haven't read this book you need to immediately! It's about two teenagers who bond over the fact that they have cancer; instead of focusing on their sickness, they find happiness in a romantic relationship.

Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close
by Jonathan Safran Foer

This novel follows Oskar Schell, an inquisitive nine-year-old boy, who must deal with the grief and anguish of losing his father in the attack of the twin towers. Some time after the death, Oskar unearths a key from his father's closet. This find unreservedly intrigues him and sanctions him to embark on a jaunt across New York's boroughs to discover the keyhole. In regards to the main plot of Oskar's endeavor, it is, at times, boring and monotonous. In fact, I was more enthralled by the side plot of Oskar's grandparents. Furthermore, as for the characters, I much preferred the characters of the grandparents more than I did the main character, Oskar. I enjoyed that this story elucidates how different characters struggled to overcome and wholly process grief. If you are on an excursion for an emotional read, this book is for you!

Invisible Emmie
by Terri Libenson

In the fictional graphic novel by Terri Libenson the main characters are two girls with contradicting personalities and social statuses in 7th grade at Lakefront Middle School. The author switches the points of views of the main characters in two different cartooning styles, Emmie’s is more plain and boring, whilst Katie’s is more bright and colorful. Emmie is a very quiet and shy girl, with one real friend, and loves to draw. Katie on the other hand, is popular, athletic, and has tons of friends. Emmie and Katie both like the same guy, but that was kay until Emmie’s never-to-be-seen corny love note gets lost and everyone in the school sees it.

In the book, One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus, one day 5 students get detention at Bayview High. Bronwyn, the nerd, Nate, the troublemaker, Simon, the outsider, Addy, the popular cheerleader, and Cooper, the athlete. For some of them, it’s their first time in detention, for others, this might be a daily routine. Simon is the creator of the highschool gossip app and exposes people on the app. This is creepy because Simon doesn’t make it out of detention alive. There was a plan that he was going to expose the other detention goers in a few days, which makes everyone in there a suspect. This book has the biggest plot twist you’ll never see coming your way.
