Scarlet Lunar Chronicles Book 2
by Marissa Meyer

View in Library Catalog

I liked this book, even better than the first book, Cinder. Mixed the two sets of characters together very well, told multiple perspectives of the story throughly and well done. Wolf, Thorne, and Scarlet were amazing characters to add to the story, as well as their storylines. Fast and easy to read as well!

Catching Fire
by Suzanne Collins

View in Library Catalog

"Catcing Fire" is the second installment in the "Hunger Games" series. Readers will encounter familiar characters: Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. This book chronicles the story of these characters after they have won the calamitous game of survival, The Hunger Games. Tension brews between Peeta and Katniss, and they must now compete in the grisly game again. This book is unequivocally intense; it is a page-turner. I unreservedly recommend this novel to those who are fond of dystopian stories!

Ouran High School Host Club Manga
by Bisco Hatori

I would recommend this series to teens because it does have some vulgar language and more mature topics. I really enjoyed seeing the Host Club become friends with Haruhi and refer to her as a “commoner.” It’s definitely a good rom-com but the romance part does develop more towards the end. It’s really funny seeing normal things that I do being refer to as exotic and a “commoner” thing. Haruhi is a very relatable character and her relationships with her friend definitely alter and develop throughout the story. The other characters’ develop is also very intriguing as you see them grow older throughout the series and towards the end when they graduate. The host club develops a family like bond, and it’s very intriguing to learn about all the characters back stories.

The Legend of Korra Graphic novels are continuation of the Avatar series. These graphic novels are very entertaining! Contrary to the Avatar books, the main character Korra is very angsty and has a very tough personality. These are great if you want a fun engrossing graphic novel to read!

A Series Of Unfortunate Events: The Reptile Room
by Lemony Snicket

View in Library Catalog

"The Reptile Room" is the second installment in the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" series. In this book, the Baudelaire orphans once again make an appearance. These three children are now sent to live with their relative who is fond of reptiles. However, they have not escaped the malevolent and vile Count Olaf. Count Olaf is a cunning and manipulative man who has his eyes on one thing and one thing only: the Baudelaire fortune. Just like the first book, the writing in this novel is wonderful. The book has a despondent and grim atmosphere while also being an enjoyable read. I unreservedly recommend this novel!

This book will always encapsulate a special place in my heart! I unequivocally recommend this to anyone who is fond of the fantasy genre!
