The Legend of Korra Graphic novels are continuation of the Avatar series. These graphic novels are very entertaining! Contrary to the Avatar books, the main character Korra is very angsty and has a very tough personality. These are great if you want a fun engrossing graphic novel to read!

This was an amazing book! This book talks about the hardships of dealing with an eating disorder as well as being haunted by the ghost of her dead best friend. This book was amazing because it brings the reader face to face with the reality of having an eating disorder. I also think the book feels a bit horror like because of her best friend's ghost haunts her thought the story. I really loved this book!

"Written In The Stars" follows Naila, a girl who becomes a victim of forced marriage. This book is unreservedly heartbreaking. However, in my opinion, it has a few plot holes. Overall, I don't recommend this book.

I personally did not really enjoy this book. The concept of kids stranded on a deserted island, without adults to help them was a very interesting concept, but I felt that many parts of the book seemed to drag and feel a little boring.

Clockwork Angel

The first book of an amazing trilogy. This was one of the books that got me back into reading again this year. Follows Tessa, the main character, who is a a teenager girl with unknown powers. Along with Jem and Will, shadow hunters from the London institute who rescue her. Amazing story and incredible characters. Secrets, love triangles, and a unique magic system.

The Book Thief
by Markus Zusak

This novel takes place during the harrowing time when Germany was utterly controlled by the Nazis. It follows a girl, Liesel, who resides with her foster family. Her family hides a Jewish man named Max in their basement. Promptly, Liesel and Max inaugurate a close bond. Furthermore, as an unreserved lover of books, Liesel is seen throughout this story stealing them. The writing of this book is remarkable; the detailed elucidations by the narrator, Death, add to the dismal and dejected mood. This book is indubitably grim and heart-wrenching. Additionally, there are a prodigious array of important themes and moral lessons manifested throughout this novel. It is a must read for teens and adults alike!
